15 Summer Vacation Essentials

Last updated:

“School’s out and it’s sort of a buzz and back then I didn’t really know what it was…Summer summer summer time! Time to sit back and unwind.”

Summer vacation is here and it is time to unwind with your little ones, enjoy the warm weather and have some fun in the sun!

18 Summers…

18 summers. It’s all we get my friends. When you think about it, childhood is fleeting and I don’t know about you but it saddens me. So I am determined to make the most of every season with my babies and this summer will be no different even though I am a working mom.

When your children are little and the days are long and hard, you think it will last forever. You can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. And then one day, you realize that your baby is no longer a baby and they’re off to Kindergarten (pass the tissues please!).

Make It The Best Summer

So this summer, go out there and live your best life with your little ones mamas. Throw on your swimsuit no matter how much cellulite, stretch marks, or flaws you think you have. Go buy that water park season pass or pool pass and get wet! Get up to the lake and enjoy the beach and watch your babies play in the warm sand and splash the cold water. Let the rules slide, be flexible on naps, enjoy every second and make precious memories.

Whatever you have planned this summer, whether a summer vacation or if you are planning to stay local, here are some vacation essentials to make the most out of either situation and have some fun in the sun with those beautiful children you created!

Whether your headed on vacation or just staying local, I’m sharing my summer vacation essentials!

Summer Vacation Essentials

  1. Step 2 Waterfall Discovery Wall: My little ones have always absolutely loved interactive water toys so this would be perfect for your 1-4-year-olds! Kiddos will enjoy scooping the water and watching it cascade through the zigzags, spinners, and funnels on this two-sided water wall.
  2. Zuru Bunch of Balloons 12 Pack: Ok, my son is obsessed with water balloons. The whole idea of water balloons gives me anxiety but with these easy fill balloons, it takes the “manual filling up time” away because it fills 100 balloons in 60 seconds and even ties them for you! Typically pretty pricey, this deal at Costco is the best I have seen.
  3. ThunderCloud Kid’s 50+ SPF UV Protective Wide Brim Bucket Baby Sun Hat: I purchased several of these hats for my children and love them! They come in so many colors so I can match their outfits or swimsuits easily. These sun hats are ultra-soft, lightweight & designed with breathable fabric. The UPF 50+ sun protective exterior offers great coverage for your toddlers with an adjustable fit.
  4. Breezy Convenient Mesh Beach Tote Bag: Ok how cool and convenient is this tote? It has everything you need to hit the beach, the pool, the park, a BBQ, etc. A built-in cooler? That’s right, the bottom of this beach tote opens to reveal a cooler big enough to hold two six-packs of cans – enough space to store beverages, snacks or a picnic lunch. Planning a beach barbeque? This bag is your answer! And it comes in two super cute colors!
  5. Floppy Beach Hat: Moms, this one is for you! I mean, we are carting our kiddos around all summer so we deserve to look cute while doing it! These floppy hats are stylish, fun, and come in a variety of different Instagram-worthy sayings. The best part? They’re only $10!
  6. Fanny Pack Cooler: Aka a cooler that fits your wine. Another one for you deserving moms because as much as you want summer vacation with your kids to sound magical, let’s be real girlfriend. Pass the wine!
  7. My First Splash and Play Slide: Ok, a little spendy. But look at it as an investment to keep your kids occupied! It’s super easy to set up with an air blower that is included to keep it inflated for nonstop splashing fun!
  8. Magical Rainbow Sprinkler: I mean, because doesn’t every kid and their friends need a Magical Rainbow Sprinkler? When I was a kid, our lawn sprinklers were where the party was at so this is the ultimate turn up in the kid “running through the sprinklers” game.
  9. Summer Infant Pop and Sit Portable Booster: Super convenient for your tots for a day at the park, at a BBQ, a baseball game in the grass, camping, wherever!
  10. Kids Beach Lounger: Forget fighting for chairs at the water park or the pool or lugging beach chairs down to the beach! Made of durable polyester, this lounger can easily be folded up and carried anywhere by its adjustable shoulder strap.
  11. Toddler Girl Swim Cover Up: Can we just talk about how cute this swim cover-up is for your little girl? It comes in three different adorable patterns. Made of chiffon fabric that is soft and comfy to wear.
  12. 100% Organic Cotton Bathrobes (Dinosaur): We can’t forget about the boys after a swim! A dino towel with a hood? This screams my son and his friends. So fun for the boys!
  13. Wegreeco Baby & Toddler Snap One Size Reusable Baby Swim Diaper: Check out these darling reusable swim diapers. You can adjust the swim diaper size by the front & waist corresponding snaps. Suitable for babies from birth up to 3 years old and a great help for saving money.
  14. Native Slip On Shoes: These slip-on shoes are super cute, convenient and durable. Built with an EVA footbed that molds to your child’s feet with wear. Waterproof, odor resistant, slip on feature.
  15. Collapsible Folding Outdoor Utility Wagon: Ok, I literally run my wagon into the ground in the summer. We take it everywhere. The pool, the water park, the park, the beach, etc. It is so convenient to throw all of your stuff in there rather than carry it or even put your kids in there with snacks. It is a lifesaver and if your kids are just a little too big for a stroller, do yourself (and your back) a favor and pick up a wagon. I have linked an affordable option.
