Independence Day is right around the corner, which means there are so many 4th of July events and activities coming up in Las Vegas and Henderson.

Independence Day Fun Facts

Here are some fun facts you may not know about this wonderful day over the years:

  • Congress made Independence Day an official unpaid holiday for federal employees in 1870. In 1938, Congress changed Independence Day to a paid federal holiday.
  • In 1776, there were 2.5 million people living in the new nation. Today the population of the U.S.A. is over 331 million.
  • The liberty bell weighs 2080 pounds and its circumference is 12 feet.
  • The Declaration of Independence was written by Thomas Jefferson.

Green Valley Ranch Resort & Casino

Date: July 4th

Time: Fireworks start at 9pm

Guests can enjoy a prime view of the firework show from the resort’s Backyard area across the main pool, amphitheater, the pond, and terrace. Doors open at 7:30pm and the firework show will begin at 9pm. Guests are welcome to purchase tickets for the event starting Tuesday, June 20 through Tuesday, July 4 at the Casino Gift Shop or the Essentials Gift Shop. Pricing begins at $35 for guests 12 and up and $10 for children ages 2-11. Adding to the experience, guests will be provided with complimentary light-up necklaces and are welcome to enjoy frozen treats, snacks, and beverages for purchase.

For guests looking for a more exclusive offering, Green Valley Ranch will have cabana and daybed rentals available at the resort pool or The Pond, for day, night, or both and are subject to availability. Bottiglia will offer patio seating for the firework show along with live music from 6pm -9pm

The M Resort

Date: July 4th

Time: 9pm

The M Resort will celebrate the 4th of July in coordination with the City of Henderson. A 15-minute fireworks display choreographed to music will begin at 9 pm. Tune into FM radio stations 93.1, 95.5, 103.9 and 106.5 to hear music synced to the fireworks display.

The M Resort pool will open from 10:30am. Daytime paid pool admissions will include the fireworks display viewing from the pool.

Lake Las Vegas

Date: July 4th

Enjoy fireworks at Lake Las Vegas at Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa, the Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa, and spots around the area including open grassy spots around the village. Tune into FM radio stations 93.1, 95.5, 103.9 and 106.5 to hear music synced to the fireworks display.

Sunset Station Casino

Date: July 4th

Time: Fireworks start at 9pm

Kids Town’s Patriotic Town & Parade

Date: Jun 21 – Jul 5, Monday – Saturday

Time: Varies, 4 – 2hr sessions to reserve each day.

Kids Town is an entire town of pretend play for kids! There are four (4) – 2 hour sessions everyday Monday-Saturday. They are decorating the town for the 4th of July and having an Independence Day Parade in each session starring your children!

The patriotic town will start on June 21st and go through July 5th. There is a limit on how many children every session, so make sure to reserve your spot on their website.

Cowabunga Canyon (Summerlin)

Date: July 1st through July 4th

Time: Fireworks start at 8:45pm

The Bull Ring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Fireworks and NASCAR short-track racing – start your 4th of July celebrations with us for our annual Night of Fire! Kids 12 and under get in free. There are activities for the kids along with raffle prizes and big wheel racing! Don’t miss out on Stockyard tailgating spots. They go QUICK. Free Swimming at Clark County Pools

Date: July 4

Time: Varies

In celebration of the Independence Day holiday, Clark County is offering free swimming at outdoor pools and water parks that will be open on Sunday, July 4.

Clark County’s Department of Parks and Recreation operates pools and community centers throughout the County. County water parks include twisting slides, gushing fountains, play areas, and shallow pools for young swimmers. Pool rules include proper swim attire required; children aged 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult; only Coast Guard-approved flotation devices allowed; no alcohol or glass containers allowed; and facility occupancy limits are enforced.

4th of July Celebration at Floyd Lamb Park

Date: July 4th

Time: 6:00-9:00pm

Join Las Vegas Ward 6 at Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs for a free 4th of July celebration.

There will be a fireworks show, music, vendors, activities, and more. Park entry fees will be waived for the event. The first 500 people in the park will get a free American flag.

You can bring blankets, low-back chairs and cap-sealed bottled water. The city asks that you do not bring ice chests, backpacks or pets. There is no smoking allowed in the park.

Las Vegas Aviators Game

Date: July 2nd & 3rd

Time: Gates open at 6pm, fireworks are post-game

Sunday Night Game with the Fireworks Spectacular celebrating Independence Day.Monday Night Fireworks Extravaganza celebrating July 4th one day early. Show starts after the last out of the game.

Las Vegas Lights FC Game

Date: July 2nd

Time: Game starts at 7:30pm

Tickets start at $10. Fireworks will be shown after the game ends.

Red Rock Casino

Date: July 4th

Time: Fireworks start at 9pm

The coordinated launch of each fireworks display at Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa, Green Valley Ranch Resort Spa & Casino, Palace Station, Sunset Station, Santa Fe Station, and Boulder Station will be one of the largest displays in the city. All shows start at 9:00 p.m. Viewing at pools requires $12 admission or $10 for guests ages 2-11.

Guests can enjoy an evening under the sparkling sky at Red Rock’s Sandbar pool for a front row view of the fireworks. Doors open at 7:30pm and the show will begin at 9pm Guests are welcome to purchase tickets for the event at the gift shop starting at $10 for guests 2-11 years of age and $35 for guests 12 and up  children under the age of two are free. Admission included complimentary light up necklaces. Guests can enjoy beverages and pizza from Side Piece for purchase. Guests are welcome to purchase tickets for the event starting Tuesday, June 20 through Tuesday, July 4 at Red Rock Gift Shop, Talulah G & Plunge.

For guests looking for a more exclusive offering, Red Rock will have day cabana rentals available at the resort pool that will allow guests to stay through the firework show. Guests can book online at redrockresort.com.

T-Bones Chophouse will offer live music on the patio from 6pm to 9pm on July 4.

Santa Fe Casino

Date: July 4th

Time: Fireworks start at 9pm

Summerlin Patriotic Parade

Date: July 4th

Kick off your Independence Day in star-spangled style at Las Vegas’s largest and most popular Fourth of July parade. American spirit will be on full display this Fourth of July at the Summerlin Council Patriotic Parade. Be a part of a time-honored tradition, complete with dazzling floats, larger-than-life balloons, dynamic performances, and, of course, tributes to our U.S. military heroes. It’s sure to bring all the small-town spirit and big-city pageantry you’ve come to expect. So, mark your calendar and make plans to celebrate Independence Day with us!

There is parking all around the area – we like the Summerlin Library Parking Lot since it’s typically closed.

The Plaza Hotel

Date: July 4th

Time: 9pm

After the sun sets, the pool transforms into a prime firework viewing location to light the Vegas sky with a live DJ set and cocktails. Doors re-open at 7:30pm (hotel guests only). Fireworks at 9pm. Must be 21+.

The STRAT

Date: July 2nd through July 4th

Time: 11pm

The STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod will honor Independence Day with a spectacular celebration unlike any other with unbeatable views of the fireworks show on the Strip and a patriotic tribute on its iconic tower.

The fireworks show will begin at 11 pm and the tower will illuminate around dusk. The STRAT tower will also light up in red, white, and blue.

The Strip

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority announced that this year at 11 pm on July 4th, fireworks will be shot off from the rooftops of the following hotels:

  • ARIA Resort & Casino
  • Caesars Palace Las Vegas
  • Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino
  • Resorts World Las Vegas
  • The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Skypod
  • Treasure Island Las Vegas

Laughlin

Rockets Over The River

Date: July 4th

Time: 9:00pm

Just after dark the annual Rockets Over The River fireworks display will be free for public viewing along the entire Laughlin River Walk or from your favorite Laughlin hotel. This extraordinary display is one of the most spectacular and unique in the West as the pyrotechnic company launches the rockets into the dark desert sky with the reflection of each colorful explosion shimmering on the Colorado River.

Patriotic music will be choreographed to the fireworks and simulcast over speakers by Laughlin hotels and local radio stations.

Mesquite

Rockets Over the Red Mesa at Eureka Casino Resort

Date: July 4th

Time: 4:00-9:00pm

“Rockets over the Red Mesa”, produced by Las Vegas Display Firework Inc., is always a spectacular show and this year will be no exception. The fireworks will be launched from the mesa behind the Eureka Casino Resort. A patriotic playlist will accompany the fireworks and be broadcast on local radio 88.1FM.

The show will be formatted for great viewing from across the city as well as the Eureka parking lots. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs and tailgate. For those who want to come early, you’re invited to enjoy an All-American buffet in Town Square featuring BBQ classics. The buffet runs from 4pm – 8pm. All ages are welcome to attend this family-friendly event and everyone is invited.

Pahrump

4th of July Fireworks Spectacular

Date: July 4th

Time: Fireworks at 8:45pm

Bring a blanket or a lawn chair and watch Pahrump’s sky sparkle with a colorful fireworks show.  Parking by the Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue Station and adjacent helicopter pad will be prohibited for safety reasons.  The Fourth of July Fireworks Show is hosted by the Town of Pahrump and will be overseen by Zambelli Fireworks.

Fireworks Over Pahrump

Date: June 26-27 and July 1-4

Time: 7:00pm – Midnight

The launch site is located one mile west of Gamebird Road, right off Highway 160. It’s free admission. All visitors who want to launch their own fireworks must have a special permit (cost $5) from one of the five fireworks stores:
