Congress made Independence Day an official unpaid holiday for federal employees in 1870. In 1938, Congress changed Independence Day to a paid federal holiday.
In 1776, there were 2.5 million people living in the new nation. Today the population of the U.S.A. is over 331 million.
The liberty bell weighs 2080 pounds and its circumference is 12 feet.

5th of July Fireworks

Time: 9pm – 10pm

Join us for a spectacular Fireworks Show on July 5 – open to the public and lighting up the sky at 9:30pm! The celebration takes place outside on Virginia Street, stretching from 2nd to 5th street. Come early and enjoy the Beer Garden on the Ballroom Plaza from 9pm to 10pm. It’s going to be an unforgettable night in the heart of the city.

Damonte Ranch Fireworks – NOT CONFIRMED 2025

Enjoy the celebration this fourth of July with the Damonte Ranch fireworks. There will be no public access to the site and please follow the traffic restriction and lane closures in and around Damonte Ranch and the Downtown Damonte location. Damonte Ranch will not be hosting the Damonte Ranch 4th of July in the Park.

Sparks

Join the Nugget and downtown Sparks for a block party on Victorian Avenue. Food trucks, vendors, arts and crafts and music! Fireworks will start at 9:30pm (weather permitting).

Limited parking. Free park and ride shuttle. The shuttle will pick up in two locations: The Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center Parking Lot at 1350 N. Wells Avenue in Reno and 510 Greenbrae Drive at the corner of Greenbrae Drive and 4th Street in Sparks.

Virginia City’s 4th of July is pure Americana with a jovial atmosphere all day and night. The streets are decked in red, white and blue. The parade is full of candy-throwing, classic cars, first responders, military, veteran organizations and more. In addition to the parade, festivities include a free concert taking place before the fireworks with David John & the Comstock Cowboys and special events throughout town. When it comes to the main show, you’re guaranteed to feel the ‘boom’ of the fireworks in your bones as the display shoots into the night sky towering above the small mountain town. 4th of July on the Comstock activities include: 12 p.m. – 4th of July Parade 6 p.m. – David John & the Comstock Cowboys Free Second Amendment Concert at the Bucket of Blood parking lot Dusk – Fireworks Spectacular Our 4th of July fireworks are made possible by contributions from our community and visitors.

Fernley 4th of July

The Fernley 4th of July has been an ongoing event for over 50 years! Our goal is to celebrate our nation the old-fashioned way beginning with a pancake breakfast sponsored by Fernley Masonic Lodge #34, proudly serving Fernley for 100 years, a parade down Main Street, a classic car show and an afternoon and evening full of fun at the Out of Town Park. We end the night with a spectacular Fourth of July fireworks display!

We are always looking for volunteers to help with next year’s events. If you are interested in volunteering please join us at one of our meetings. We meet the second Tuesday of each month, 6:00 pm, Fernley Senior Center located at 105 Lois Lane, Fernley.

Fallon

Fallon Parade & Fireworks

Date: July 4, 2025 at 10am

Location: Downtown Fallon The Fallon Chamber of Commerce, Churchill County, & The City of Fallon present the 2024 Fourth of July Parade! Get your group together and decorate your cars/trailers/ATV’s/horses to enter in one of Fallon’s favorite annual events!

The parade will be held on Thursday, July 4th with a start time of 10:00 a.m., along the usual route. All entries must be submitted through the online registration form found on the Parks and Recreation or Chamber of Commerce websites. There are multiple activities going on in conjunction with the parade, including a Block Party on Maine Street, the Annual Bed Races, a Pie Baking Contest, Window Decorating Contest, and more!

Genoa

The Lights on the Lake Fourth of July firework celebration is scheduled to begin at 9:45 PM. Resort guests will have exclusive access to South Shore’s spectacular fireworks show from the comfort of Edgewood Tahoe’s Beach Event Lawn.

All ages are welcome; give caution as it will be a loud experience. The festivities are exclusive to guests of Edgewood Tahoe Resort.

Tahoe City Drone Show

Get ready to enjoy the 77th Tahoe City Fireworks Display on the 4th of July!! South Lake Tahoe Fireworks

Friday, July 4, 2025, The American Pyrotechnics Association rates South Shore’s spectacular Fourth of July fireworks celebration one of the top five displays in the nation. The show is scheduled to begin at 9:45 PM. The fireworks are visible from all over town.
