Nevada Moms is hosting our first annual Back to School and Diaper Drive benefiting the Women & Children’s Center of the Sierra (WACCS).

Back to School and Diaper Drive

Our Back To School and Diaper Drive will run from July 1st – July 23rd. We have partnered with 4 local businesses that are serving as donation sites.

Monetary Donations

Our goal at Nevada Moms is to raise $1,500 in monetary donations which will be matched by 4 sponsors.

All sizes of diapers are welcome but WACCS is in urgent need of sizes 4, 5, 6.

Donation Drive Goals

We know that with the community’s support we can reach our donation goals and provide these families with the items needed!

School Supplies

Did you know that it costs about $25 for a new backpack and school supplies to fill it?

Our goal for the drive is to get 200 backpacks filled!

Diapers

WACCS has an immediate need for diapers in sizes 4, 5, and 6. They donate between 9,000 – 11,000 diapers every month to mothers in need. Our goal is to receive $500 worth in diapers.

About WACCS

WACCS provides services to support women as they work to move out of poverty and improve their lives. They provide these resources and classes at no charge to the women.

Some of the services they provide include:

Diaper Bank – Donating over 9,000 diapers monthly
Information and referral services
Computer Lab
Food pantry (including baby food and formula)
Cribs for Kids program
Classes and camps for children
Domestic violence services

They also provide these women and children with classes including children classes and STEAM camps, mommy and me life skills and support groups, interpersonal violence groups, English as a second language class.

Kacey Queen

Co-Founder

Kacey Queen is a co-founder of Nevada Moms

Kacey received her bachelor's in Psychology while cheering for the University of Oregon. They moved to Reno in 2014 and have loved it ever since. She is a dedicated homeschooling mother to her three children.

She serves on the hospital board for Northern Nevada Health Systems and is passionate about her community.

Kacey loves exploring with her family and finding family-friendly events and activities! A few of her favorite things include family adventures, traveling, working out, coffee, and dessert!

Leanna Carson

Leanna Carson is an expecting mama via IVF and a serial entrepreneur.

Born and raised in Las Vegas, she loves sharing all things family-friendly as well as local spots most don’t even know about! She co-founded Nevada Moms in 2018 and it has become the #1 Family Guide to Nevada experiences, activities, happenings, and more.
