Summer is quickly coming to an end and we are so sad, but the kids are ready to head back to school (I think as parents, we might be a little ready for them to get back into a routine too!). Are you ready to head back to school in Las Vegas, Henderson, or Boulder City?

We’ve received a lot of questions regarding resources where families can collect free school supplies – like backpacks, crayons, pencils, etc. – for their children as well as back-to-school fairs, to learn about different resources in the community like after-school care, recreational sports, and more.

Cox Back to School Fair – The Boulevard

Immunizations will be available on site.
Cox Back to School Fairs serve as the source for parents and students to get back to school and are held over four weekends. Services include an immunization clinic with Immunize Nevada and representatives from the Clark County School District who are on hand to answer questions ranging from registration, learning opportunities and enrollment.
Smarts & Smiles: Back to School Dental Care Fair
Date: Jul 17-21
Location: Ronald McDonald House; 2323 Potosi St. Las Vegas, NV 89146
Nevada Health Centers in partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Las Vegas are hosting the annual Smarts & Smiles event.
It’s a back-to-school dental fair that will be held July 17-21, 2023 at the house in Las Vegas. The location is at 2323 Potosi St., Las Vegas, Nevada.
There will be free oral health screenings and every child will leave with a cool, fun backpack full of school supplies.
Appointments are required, so please call 800.787.2568 to schedule.

Location: Dollar Loan Center, 200 S Green Valley Parkway, Henderson
The Henderson Police Department is partnering with the Vegas Knight Hawks, The Dollar Loan Center and HopeLink of Southern Nevada to host a Back-To-School Bash on Thursday, July 27, to help prepare local students for a successful school year.
The Back-To-School Bash will include a backpack and school supply giveaway while supplies last, public safety demonstrations, back-to-school safety information, as well as a chance to hear about community resources and information from Henderson Police officers. Students can also receive a free haircut and eye exam from local providers.
Feel Good Friday – Back to School Extravaganza

Teacher Book Sale

Teachers can get children’s books for .25 cents each! Browse gently-used books for the classroom.
3rd Annual Project Backpack
Date: Aug. 5, 9am-12pm
Location: Richard Harris Law Firm, 830 S 4th Street, Las Vegas
Free backpacks filled with fantastic gear! Stop by the Richard Harris Law Firm on August 5th to pick up your backpack. While these backpacks are primarily geared towards elementary students, all grade levels are welcome to participate. Special appearance by Chance and The Vivas from VGK, along with face painters and an ice cream truck! This event is specifically for students who are not receiving backpacks at the schools they are supporting in 2023. You can check the list of schools at projectbackpacknv.com to see if your child’s school is included.
Registration must be completed at the event for each student receiving a backpack. Backpacks will be available until supplies last.
COX Back-To-School Fair – Downtown Summerlin

Location: 8275 Spring Mountain Road
Back to School Community Resource Fair presented by Commissioner Justin Jones, LVMPD Spring Valley, Acelero Learning, and Health Plan of Nevada. Receive free backpacks filled with school supplies, haircuts, hygiene products, food, drinks, and access to various community resources.
Back to School Pool Party
Date: Aug. 5 10am-3pm
Location: Silver Mesa Pool, 4095 Allen Lane, North Las Vegas
Join Mayor Pro Tempore Scott Black and Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick for a fun-filled Back to School Pool Party at Silver Mesa Pool! Enjoy a live DJ, engaging games, raffles, and receive free backpacks, hotdogs, hamburgers, and snow cones while supplies last.
