One of our favorite things to do this time of year is to see all of the Christmas light hotspots! We love Christmas lights. Below we are sharing the ultimate guide to Christmas light hotspots in Reno, Sparks, Carson City, and beyond!

Hidden Valley Parade of Lights

Every year the homes in the Hidden Valley neighborhood participate in a contest that is put on by their HOA.  This is is the perfect area to check out since this contest has been going on for over 36 years! Count on the lights being on December 4th through December 31st  from 6:00pm – 9:30pm.

Here is a map of the neighborhoods in Hidden Valley to make it easier for you. You are bound to get in some great light sightings! We’ve listed the addresses of 2022’s top ten homes for you below.

❄️ Biggest Little Light Show, 9140 Gilvarry Street, Reno, NV

The show starts November 23rd and lights are on Monday-Thursday 4:30pm – 9:00pm and Friday – Sunday 4:30pm – 9:30pm.  

Tune your radio to 89.9fm and enjoy 6 different songs! 

❄️Damonte Ranch Circle of Lights – Cancelled for 2023

Steamboat Pkwy, Reno, NV.

This is cancelled for 2023 although many home owners say they will still be decorating the back of their homes so people can enjoy on the path. 

❄️ Somersett Neighborhood of Lights

This year Somersett is stepping up its game! The winners will be announced on December 17th and we will post them once they are announced. Community gates will be open from 4-8 pm Thursdays-Sundays from tomorrow (Dec. 1) through Dec. 16.

❄️ Cold Springs

Cold Springs is hosting their own Christmas light competition and we have included the homes competing this year on our map!  Make sure to check out the map for over 20+ homes in that area! 

❄️ Alpine Circle, Reno, NV Near Jessie Beck Elementary School

Each year the neighbors in this cul-de-sac light up their homes to celebrate the holiday season. As it gets closer to Christmas, Santa sits outside handing out candy canes! Each year is a little different and there is also a spot to donate canned goods that benefits the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.

❄️10440 Canyon Country Ct, Reno, NV

The decorations in this home are awesome.  This house is a must-see for the holiday season! There is a 1.5-hour loop show on the home of various holiday movies and music in addition to the decorations.

❄️ Hope Community Church (755 Trademark Dr, Reno, NV)

Enjoy the light show with over 11,000 lights.  The show is operating daily from 6pm-9:30pm through December 24th. Drive through a light tunnel on your way out. It’s running Friday-Sunday Nights from 6-9:30PM. It starts every half hour and the audio plays on 98.5 FM.

❄️The Elf House – 4018 White Rock Ct, Reno, NV – Cancelled 2023

“THE ELF HOUSE” is cancelled for 2023 season.  Will return in 2024

Lights on Peavine – 2190 Peavine Creek Rd, Reno, NV

Shared by a reader, this home is out in Cold Springs and it’s part of a three-house light show! Tune into FM 93.1 to hear approximately 15 songs during this show.

Shared by a reader, this street lights up for the holidays pretty well with inflatables and lights. It is out in Cold Springs. Tune the radio to 90.7 FM for light show and music. 

17795 Cedar Mountain Drive Reno, NV

Beautifully decorated home shared by the homeowner in Cold Springs as part as the neighborhood competition! 

❄️ 7540 Gold Drive, Reno, NV

Amazing display which runs from the day after Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day has about 30,000 LED lights. There are 72 channels of lighting synchronized to a total of 9 songs this year Tune to 89.90 FM. The arches over the driveway are 40′ long and the mega-tree is 16′ tall and 10′ wide at the base. Many hand made decorations including a 6 foot Star Wars Millennium Falcon & Tie-Fighter on the roof

❄️ Lights of Tanea | 16180 Tanea Dr. Reno, NV.

The 2022 light show will run nightly typically starting on Black Friday 2022. The lights will run Friday – Saturday 5-11pm  and Sunday-Thursday 5-10pm. Tune into 106.1 FM.

❄️ 2390 Walnut Street, Reno, NV

Shared by the homeowner! They have a whole new show for this year with around 10,000 lights set to several new songs. Music is broadcast on 102.5. They will be raising money outside the house from SPCA again this year on December 17th.

Located in the Wingfield neighborhood, we visit this Christmas light hotspot each Christmas and it does not disappoint. Tune your radio to 89.9 FM and enjoy the light show with synchronized music!

Our lights are set to music, and we have awesome blow-ups in the front yard. Our neighbors across the streets have many lights all over their yards as well as the neighbors around us!

CARSON CITY

❄️ Nevada State Capitol

Each year the grounds of the Capitol building are lit with thousands of Christmas lights. There is an annual tree-lighting ceremony as well. 

The location is in Downtown Carson at 101 North Carson Street.

Near Al Seelinger ES and Saliman

South on Saliman – turn left on Sonoma (stop sign), and follow it around. Lots of great houses to check out lights! Right near Al Seeliger Elementary School area.

• Sunday – Thursday from 5:00 pm- 10:00 pm
• Friday & Saturday from 5:00 pm-11:00 pm 

It will be running until New Years Day weather permitting.

Santa will be there on Dec. 10 and Dec. 17 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. You can enjoy hot chocolate and cookies. A donation of canned goods is recommended but not required.

Incline Village

972 Jennifer Street, Incline Village, NV 

Light shows are Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights starting on December 2. Starting on Friday, December 16 our shows run every night through December 27.  All shows are at 5:45 pm and 7:15 pm and are approximately 40 minutes long.  

The main highlights are a 30′ tall mega tree with 4800 Pixel LED lights and a 8’x8′ picture wall with 2400 Pixel LED lights.  We have over 20,000 lights in the show. The family raises money at the show for Tahoe Family Solutions and has a food donation bin for canned goods.

Holiday Menorah and Tree Lightings

Date: Various Dates in November and December

Location: Reno, Sparks, Carson City, and Tahoe

Cost: Free

Washoe Lake Trail of Lights Drive-Thru 

Date: Dec. 8 -11 from 5-8 p.m.

Location: Washoe Lake State Park, NV

$5 per car for Nevada residents or $10 for nonresidents. Join us for our 2nd Annual Drive-Through Holiday celebration! Campground Loop B will be decorated with lights, snowmen, movie quotes, and more!

Participants will stay in their vehicles as they drive through the loop. Listen to your favorite music as you drive through the campground looking at the decorations.
**Important update: Vehicle clearance is nine feet, six inches (9’6″), including the antenna. Vehicles taller than 9’6″ will not make it through the decorated loop.

Zoo Lights at Sierra Exotic Animal Park

Date: November 26 & 27 and December 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18

Location: Sierra Safari Zoo 

Cost: $12 for adults., $8 for kids 3 to 12. Kids 3 and under are FREE, and $9 for active military/veterans.

Come see the Zoo lit up for the Holidays. There will special opportunity to have your picture taken with Santa ($5) and kids will get a special holiday cookie to decorate. There will be free hot chocolate and hot cider to sip as you stroll the grounds. This event is Weather dependent.

Ice Skating in Northern Nevada (Click here!)

Ice Skating is the perfect winter activity. It’s perfect for a girl’s night, date night, or family night. Luckily we have a few different locations to choose from.
