One of my favorite ways to feel organized is to meal plan. This past year I went dairy and gluten free! I have had to relearn some of our go to recipes. I am sharing 5 dairy and gluten free dinner ideas for your family.
It can be challenging when trying to accommodate dietary restrictions such as dairy and gluten-free, but with a little creativity, it’s possible to create meals that everyone will enjoy.

5 Dairy and Gluten Free Dinner Ideas For Your Family
Grilled Chicken with Roasted Vegetables
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 zucchinis, sliced
- 1 red pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow pepper, sliced
- 1 red onion, sliced
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Toss the sliced vegetables in 2 tablespoons of olive oil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Spread the vegetables out on a baking sheet and roast for 20-25 minutes, until tender and lightly browned.
- While the vegetables are cooking, season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper and grill on medium-high heat for 6-8 minutes per side, until cooked through.
- Serve the grilled chicken with the roasted vegetables.
Spaghetti Squash with Turkey Meatballs
Ingredients:
- 1 large spaghetti squash
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup almond flour
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 jar of gluten-free marinara sauce
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Cut the spaghetti squash in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds.
- Place the spaghetti squash halves cut-side down on a baking sheet and bake for 30-40 minutes until the flesh is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
- While the spaghetti squash is cooking, mix the ground turkey, egg, almond flour, onion, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Form the mixture into small meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
- Bake the meatballs in the oven for 15-20 minutes, until cooked through.
- Heat the gluten-free marinara sauce in a small saucepan.
- Once the spaghetti squash is done, use a fork to shred the flesh into spaghetti-like strands.
- Serve the spaghetti squash topped with the turkey meatballs and marinara sauce.
Taco Salad
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet gluten-free taco seasoning
- 1 head of lettuce, chopped
- 1 can of black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 avocado, diced
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1/2 cup sliced black olives
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- Juice of 1 lime
Instructions:
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the gluten-free taco seasoning and stir to combine.
- In a large bowl, combine the chopped lettuce, black beans, avocado, tomato, black olives, cilantro, and lime juice.
- Add the cooked ground beef to the salad and toss everything together.
- Serve the taco salad with a dollop of dairy-free sour cream or guacamole if desired.
Grilled Salmon with Roasted Vegetables
Ingredients:
- 4 salmon fillets
- 1 lb Brussels sprouts, halved
- 1 lb sweet potatoes, peeled and diced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- In a large bowl, toss together the Brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes, olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Spread the mixture evenly on a baking sheet.
- Grill the salmon fillets for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through.
- Roast the vegetables in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until tender.
- Serve the grilled salmon with the roasted vegetables.
Turkey Chili
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, diced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish
Instructions:
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground turkey and cook until browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon as it cooks.
- Add the onion, garlic, red and yellow bell peppers to the pot and cook until the vegetables are softened about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, black beans, kidney beans, chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chili is thick and the flavors have melded together.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro.
