Community Ribbon Cutting Celebrating Desert Peach Montessori’s Opening
Envisioned by two veteran Reno Montessori educators, this teacher-led, micro-school will open in the education outreach building of the historic First Congregational Church in Reno. Desert Peach is Nevada’s first Wildflower Montessori school.
Reno, NV – To celebrate the opening of Desert Peach Montessori, a ribbon-cutting will be held at the school (627 Sunnyside Dr.) on October 21, 2022 at 5:30 pm, and members of the public are welcome to attend.

Desert Peach Montessori School, a micro-Montessori school serving northern Nevada lower elementary students will open on October 24, 2022 in partnership. By partnering with the City of Reno, UNR’s Human Development and Family Studies, and neighborhood elementary schools, organizations that embrace the West University community, Desert Peach Montessori is able to create an elementary Montessori program within a space that had historically housed a Montessori school twenty years ago. Located at 541 Sunnyside Dr., Desert Peach Montessori will serve as a neighborhood anchor and provide a lasting benefit to the City of Reno.

About Desert Peach Montessori
Desert Peach Montessori is an authentic elementary Montessori school within the Wildflower network of schools, serving children ages 5 – 8 years within Reno’s West University neighborhood. Desert Peach creates a Montessori learning environment for elementary students and their families that moves fluidly between school, home, and community. Students are free to study in both an indoor and outdoor environment as well as the yoga studio, creating an environment filled with beauty, nature, and peace.
