Discover Science with Eva Pell

As the child of refugees, Eva Pell’s family knew a college education would be important for their daughter. How that would shape her life was much less clear. Dr. Pell will share with the audience how a kid from New York’s inner city would find her way to a career academia and administration, including the unexpected opportunity to serve as the Undersecretary for Science at the Smithsonian Institution. She will share less well-known stories about this extraordinary institution and why she decided to pen a series of children’s books about rescuing endangered species.
