Free Children’s Day Festival and Movie Night
The city of Las Vegas will host the annual Día del Niño (Children’s Day) Festival at Gary Reese Freedom Park, 850 N. Mojave Road, Saturday, April 29, from 4 to 7 p.m. The free event is open to the public and will feature music, activities, refreshments and more. A free showing of the movie “Encanto” will follow at sunset.
The event is co-sponsored by the Consulate of Mexico in Las Vegas, and will include performances by artists, schools and community groups. Activities will include face-painting, arts and crafts and more.
Día del Niño is a traditional family holiday celebrated in Mexico in April that honors children, celebrates their importance in society and promotes their well–being.
“Children of all ages and their loved ones are invited to join us to celebrate Día del Niño,” Ward 3 Councilwoman Olivia Díaz said. “It brings me great joy to bring this fun-filled festival and a great movie in partnership with our community.”
Additional partners for the festival include The Southern Nevada Health District, La Bonita Supermarkets, Silver Summit Health Plan, The Children’s Cabinet, Gonzalez and Flores Law, Nevada Health Link, Jarritos, Cristo Rey St. Viator High School, Pinkbox Doughnuts and Fiesta Radio.
