Can you believe it’s fall? What a crazy 2020 it has been! None the less, fall is still our favorite time of year and we love the activities that come with it. We have put together this list of fall events and activities and events for you to enjoy fall to the fullest!

Visit A Pumpkin Patch 

Can you even let fall pass without a trip or two to a pumpkin patch?  See our complete guide of local pumpkin patches and let us know which patch is your favorite! Some of our favorite activities at the farms include:

Movie Nights at Ferrari Farms

Ferrari Farms is hosting movie nights on the farm. Entry is $8 per person and must be booked in advance.  A list of showtimes and movies are listed below.  Bring your own chairs, blankets, and smores supplies (encluding sticks) and enjoy!

  • September 26th – Beetlejuice

Plan A Trip To Apple Hill

Plan a day trip to Apple Hill!  Check with individual plans as some farms are taking reservations.  They are asking that you limit your visit to your own household.  Check out our Ultimate Apple Hill Guide to help you plan your trip!

Boo’ Your Neighbor

Nothing makes my kids more excited for Halloween then our annual “boo’ing”.  Join in the fun and “Boo your neighbor” or a friend! Use our free printable, gather your favorite goodies, and get to boo’ing!

Head to the Animal Ark

We love Animal Ark! The cooler weather is the perfect time to visit the ark and see the animals more active.  They also have 2 popular events that also occur in the fall.  Details for those below.

Harvest Festival

October 10th – October 11th, 2020

This is one of the most popular events the Animal Ark holds!  Because of COVID-19 precautions they have expanded the event over 2 days.  Reservations are required, 4 different reservation times available.

Last Chance Cheetah Dash

October 17th, 2020, 4:45 pm – 6:15 pm

Watch the cheetahs running in the annual cheetah dash! Reservations are required and children must be at least 8 years old to attend the cheetah dash.

Events at Sierra Safari Zoo

Head to the Sierra Safari Zoo for some family fun.  They are open 7 days a week from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.  They have a few different events listed below happening this Fall!

Boo At The Zoo

October 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th, 17th, 18th, 24th, 25th, 31st and November 1st. 10:00 am – 5:00 pm

The Sierra Safari Zoo will hold its annual “Boo At The Zoo” events! The event includes a 20 foot Tiger Slide, Hay maze for small kids, a cow milking simulator, petting zoo and more!

Spookaroo At The Zoo

October 3oth and 31st, 7:00 pm
Tour the zoo in the dark.  Bring a flashlight and be prepared for a spooky good time.  Must be 13 and older to attend.

Visit A Farmers Market

Fall is the perfect time to support our local farmers and check out some of the local Farmers Markets!  We have compiled a list of Farmers Markets open currently.

Apple Picking in Washoe

Open Daily from September 19th – Ocotber 19th or until apples are gone.

Head to Washoe for some Apple picking at Franktown Apples (also known as APple Basket U-Pick Apple Orchard).

Franktown Apples is located at 7425 Franktown Road in Washoe Valley.

Stay Indoors For Some Fun

We are all praying for the smoke to blow off but until it does we are planning some fun indoors!  My personal favorites include some jump time at DEFY (use NVMOMS for 20% off your total) and a trip down to Northern Nevada Children’s Museum! See our complete list of indoor activities here.
