Nevada consistently ranks at the very bottom in public education quality. Some reports rank us as low as 49th out of 50. In recent years, homeschooling in Nevada has become more popular, just as it has across the nation. Itโs a real alternative for families looking for a different option.
Many experts believe that homeschooling is growing the fastest in our great Silver State. Homeschooling in Nevada used to be seen as something only a few families did, but today itโs reaching every type of child and every type of family. Different learning styles, backgrounds, and situations are all positively impacted by homeschooling.
When I was faced with these facts at the start of our homeschool journey, I was forced to ask questions like:
- How is education defined?
- What are its goals?
- Can I do better than 49th for my children?
The answers I discovered were mind blowing and life changing. I wanted my children to be critical thinkers โ a term we hear often today. I wanted them to look at the world with wonder. I wanted them to love to learn. Homeschooling was the obvious solution to those calls.
Charlie Kirk once said, โMy money is on the homeschool kids. Theyโre going to be the ones running society.โ I share that belief, and homeschool parents are training those kids up right now.
