Vitamins

I make sure my kiddos are getting the nutrients they need with Llama Naturals multivitamins and Vitamin D3. Both are plant-based and free from added sugars. My kids also like how these vitamins taste so it is not a fight to take them!

Pain and Fever Reducers

I always keep both Genexa acetaminophen and dye-free Motrin on hand. These options are gentle on their tummies and free of unnecessary additives which is a must for our family.

We do try to avoid acetaminophen if possible as it depletes the body of glutathione!

Wound Care

Iโ€™ve swapped out Neosporin for Active Repair Spray, which works great for cuts, scrapes, rashes, etc without the chemicals. Itโ€™s an easy, natural choice for first-aid needs.

I keep the spray at home, in my mom bag and with my emergency kits. They have a few different options (baby and regular), but it is all the same exact formula, just different branding.

If you still want an ointment, try First Honey. It is a much cleaner alternative!

First Aid Kit

An essential for any household, my first aid kit has bandages, gauze, and all the basics. Itโ€™s perfect for treating minor injuries right away, and I always feel better knowing it’s there when I need it.

Some items we keep in our first aid kit in addition to some of the others listed here:

You can purchase an already made first-aid kit like the one I listed in our emergency go-bag list or you can build your own like we do!

Teething Relief

  • Earthley Teeth Tamer: This is my natural go-to for teething discomfort. It soothes sore gums without any harsh ingredients. It works so well and I always keep one in my diaper bag and one at home.
  • Hylandโ€™s Teething Tablets: Another gentle remedy that helps calm fussy babies dealing with teething especially when they are younger than 6 months.
  • Boiron Camilla Drops: When my son was under 6 months, we also kept these on hand!

Cold, Flu, Cough & Congestion Relief

  • Hylandโ€™s Mucus & Cold Relief: Perfect for those stuffy noses and chest congestion, especially during cold season. This is one of my top medicine cabinet must-haves for kids and my son doesn’t mind it at all.
  • Nebulizer Machine with Saline Solution: Lifesaver for congestion, especially when little ones are too young for other medications. We also use this for ourselves whenever we have a cough that needs to be broken up. The saline solution helps them breathe easier without any medication involved. Some insurances cover these machines, but I bought mine on Amazon (it’s old so I linked similar!).
  • Boiron Oscillococcinum: for relief from flu-like symptoms of body aches, headache, fever, chills, and fatigue.
  • Earthley Feel Better Fast: When you feel a cold coming on, starting taking this! It is great for the whole family. We love this in our house.
  • Earthley Cough Be Gone: the taste of this is not great, but it does work! If you can withstand the taste, I recommend trying it!

Nail Clippers

Nail clippers are a small but important tool for keeping our kids nails trimmed and avoiding accidental scratches. A file helps smooth things out too!

Hydration

Sanitizers

  • Handzies Wipes: These natural, soap-and-water-based wipes are great for cleaning up messy hands when soap and water arenโ€™t available. I prefer them over sanitizer as it doesn’t try your hands out and it’s alcohol-free. Plus, they have them in packs or individually wrapped. Super handy for on-the-go as well!
  • EO Organic Hand Sanitizer Spray

Healer Tallow

Tallow is another medicine cabinet must-haves for kids. I love using tallow-based balm for dry skin, diaper rashes, or any irritated spots. Itโ€™s all-natural and incredibly moisturizing. Plus its safe for all ages.

We both use Cow Kissed Tallow (code: NVMOMS for a discount!) – it’s all natural and a small mama business. Here’s the one’s I love:

  • Healer Tallow; used for sun burns, wounds, eczema, psoriasis
  • Honey Kissed Tallow; Helps reduce acne, fades under-eye circles, reduces the appearance of scars, heals wounds, cuts and burns, enhances complexion- keeps it clear and radiant, perfect for stretch marks, After sun exposure to lock in your perfect glow.
  • Smoochie Tallow; tallow chapstick for your lips!

Bug Repellant

This is a go-to for keeping mosquitoes away, especially during summer. The Badger Bug Stick is safe for kids and effective without harmful chemicals.

Pain Relief

For bruises, bumps, or muscle soreness, Arnicare is my favorite natural remedy to help ease pain and swelling.

Allergy

If you or your little one suffers from seasonal allergies, Genexaโ€™s allergy relief is my preferred brand. Itโ€™s clean and free from dyes and unnecessary fillers.
