We are excited to introduce you to our contributor Lacy Catao. Lacy has been a part of the Nevada Moms team since March of 2019.
Lacy loves to write about nutrition, family tips and hacks, homeschooling and so much more!
Are You A Mom?
I am a mom of three spunky young girls (5 and under) and two stubborn Bulldogs.
What is the best piece of advice you can give to a new parent?
The best advice I can give to a new parent (eeek!) is to take it day by day.
You may have a vision of what your parenting style will be like, but once you have kids of your own your mindset shifts.
Embrace this and know that it’s your best self doing what’s best for your family. Oh, and don’t be afraid to ask for help!!
Share one of your most embarrassing mom moments?
From boogers and snot on my clothing to diaper blowouts to kids saying the darndest things, it happens to all of us. ??♀️
What does the perfect “me day” look like?
My perfect “me day” would consist of a workout, followed by a massage/facial, delicious food, and complete relaxation… but this is no longer possible when you have kids.
Complete relaxation doesn’t exist because even if you do have a full day of “me time”, by bedtime you’re wondering how your kids are doing, you miss them and you’re left hoping that whoever is watching them isn’t struggling through the bedtime routine.
Why do you enjoy writing for Nevada Moms and what is your favorite post you’ve written?
I love sharing insight that helps make life easier for others. Writing for Nevada Moms has brought together a community, even if we don’t get together and see one another often we’re still supported and understood by one another.
We are always looking for awesome new contributors to add to our team! After all, we couldn’t do this without amazing mamas, like Lacy, who share their voices with our community.
We like articles that introduce new ideas and advance conversations around topics and trends that engage our readers–think op-ed rather than content marketing.
We appreciate articles that are centered around family life, being a parent, or starting a family.
While we do not add contributors all the time, if a spot opens out and we think you’ll be a good fit for us, we will reach out. Our contributors commit to volunteering their time to write 1 article/month for 12 months. You can learn more and apply here.
