How to Get The Birthday Build A Bear
The pay your age birthday Build A Bear is literally the easiest thing to get when it comes to birthday freebies. Yes, I know – it’s not technically FREE, but basically it is for those first couple years. Haha
Our Pay Your Age birthday month offer is available in stores only to Build A Bear Bonus Club members during the month of their birthday. Example: if your child turns 2 this month, they will pay $2 plus tax.
Here’s how to get your bear:
- Be a member of their Build-A-Bear Bonus Club. It’s free to join. (I will note that while I am a free member, they have never confirmed prior to us getting the bear, but they do ask for your email when you checkout). You can literally sign up the day before and no purchases are necessary.
- Head to your local Build-A-Bear, no appointment necessary.
- Let them know you are there for a special birthday kiddo to do the pay your age birthday Build A Bear. They will get you setup with a name tag, party hat, and start going through their spiel.
- Build your birthday bear, name it, get a birth certificate for your bear, and checkout by paying your child’s age. That’s it!
Things To Know
Be Prepared for Upsell After Upsell
From the second you walk in, they will try to upsell you until the second you walk out. If you are truly looking for the fun tradition of the pay your age birthday Build A Bear, go in with that mindset and don’t let them keep adding to your tab. Things to know:
- The birthday bear is a very specific bear (it is NOT an animal of choice).
- You are NOT obligated to purchase anything else. Any upgrades, clothing, accessories = more cost.
- They have a 4 for $25 birthday deal – four birthday items for $25 – but they are very specific pieces. I would skip.
- Any voice add-on, scented hearts, etc cost extra.
- They offer a $10 gift credit if you pay for $5 card at the end. They offer this for every single customer, so it’s not specific to the birthday bear.
Only Available During Child’s Birthday Month
This offer is available any time in the month of their birthday, in stores only. Proof of age/identification is not required, they will ask you for verbal proof/confirmation.
