Dayton Valley Days

Elko Art Festival
Date: Sept. 9 – 12
Location: Downtown Elko
Support the Elko Art Foundation during their annual Elko Art Festival. There will be new downtown murals where you can meet the artists. You’ll also be able to enjoy family and kids art bingo, kids trash can painting, community wall painting, wine walk and more!
The Annual Genoa Candy Dance and Candy Dance Arts & Crafts Faire event is always scheduled for the last full weekend in September.
Activities include Genoa’s Famous Candy, Juried Arts & Crafts, Renowned Dinner & Dance, Festival Food Vendors, Mason’s Pancake Breakfast, FREE on-site Shuttle Bus, Children’s games. Fun for the whole family!

Museum Day is an annual celebration of boundless curiosity hosted by Smithsonian magazine. Participating museums and cultural institutions across the country provide free entry to anyone presenting a Museum Day ticket.

This year the Duck Race & Festival will be hosted at Hawkins Amphitheatre in Bartley Regional Park from 4-9pm on September 18th! During this family-friendly event there will be vendors, food trucks, a beer garden, games for the kids, pet adoptions, and more!
It’s the last weekend of September. Everything is calm and tranquil. The sun shines, the birds sing, the Truckee river courses lazily between its banks. Often referred to as the Super Bowl of rib competitions on the national BBQ competition circuit, the annual Labor Day Weekend event spans more than 6 city blocks in the heart of downtown Sparks, Nevada.

Drop-in every Thursday afternoon from 10am-12pm for the Maker Family Meetup! This is a pay-what-you-can drop-in art experience for kids and their families.
Each week will be a different art activity as well as fun art activation stations for your child(ren) to explore! This is a fun, hands-on and lowkey place for kids to express their creativity and check out our maker space.
Date: Sept. 16 from 4-9pm (third thursday of every month)

This includes good food, cold drinks, live entertainment, crafts, chef demos, movies on the big screen and all the art you can handle! Downtown Sparks is the place to be this and every 3rd Thursday of the month, all year round!
Date: Friday, Sept. 10 at 5 p.m. for Hot Camel Nights, Saturday, Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m, and Sunday, Sept. 12 at 12 p.m.
Location: Virginia City Arena & Fairgrounds
This must-attend and family-friendly event feature jockeys precariously perched on their beasts as they maneuver the track at high speeds, aiming for a win among the cheering crowds.
Attendees can enjoy watching the hilarious camel, zebra, and ostrich races, on-site treats as well as camel rides between races for that once-in-a-lifetime photo op. We recommend pre-purchasing your tickets for $15 for adults and $12 for kids under 12 and seniors. Premium shaded tickets are $25.
Kacey received her bachelor's in Psychology while cheering for the University of Oregon. They moved to Reno in 2014 and have loved it ever since. She is a dedicated homeschooling mother to her three children.
She serves on the hospital board for Northern Nevada Health Systems and is passionate about her community.
