Camps
Here are Summer Break camps to check out in Northern Nevada and the surrounding areas. Some of these camps require that you pack a lunch and or snacks to send with your child – so keep that in mind!
Boys and Girls Club Camp Offerings
The boys and girls club offers a traditional summer day camp that runs weekly during the summer or switch it up and add-on field trips or chooses a from one of their specialty camps offered. Meals are provided at select locations. Must also be a registered member ($20 annual fee).
When you register for a specialty camp within the Boys and Girls club, these camps run in addition to traditional camp so kids get to participate in the specialty camp then rejoin the traditional camp afterward.

Camp Gailee
Each of our programs is carefully planned to create a welcoming community where participants have opportunities to step away from regular life and create new relationships, challenge themselves, learn more about themselves and the world around them, and enjoy the beauty of God’s creation.
Days/Times: June 15th-August 21st; Weeklong camps, Family Camps also available.

City of Reno Vacation Station
Check out the City of Reno’s summer break options for campers ages 6-12 years old this year! This year they are at three locations, Evelyn Mount Northeast Community Center, Nick Poulakidas Elementary School, and California Building in Idlewild Park. Camps are first come, first served. Space is limited.
Days/Times: One week sessions offered June – August from 7am – 6pm
Ages: 6 – 12.5 years old (must have completed Kindergarten)
Cost:$110 per child per week (June 14-July 2), $115 per child per week (July 6-August 6), no daily rate
Camp Invention
Camp Invention Is a STEM Summer Program that enables curious students to discover, learn, and expand their knowledge. Fuel the imagination of your future world-changer with our innovative and FUN hands-on STEM experience – now with in-person OR at-home options available!
Days/Times: June 13-17 and June 20-24; 9:00am-3:30pm
Ages: For children entering grades Kindergarten – 6th
Cost: $255 per week
Camp Mesa Rim
Experience rock climbing, play games, learn new skills and make friends! Camp Mesa Rim is offered seasonally during all school breaks.
Bring your own lunch. Discounts for siblings and multi-session sign-up.
Days/Times: One week sessions offered June 14 – August 6, 9am-3pm (extended care offered)
Ages: 7-13 years
Cost: $390 per week, $90 daily rate
Camp Woodward Tahoe
Woodward is more than a camp – learn or perfect your skateboarding, BMX, scooter, mountain bike, parkour, skiing, snowboarding, adventure skills, and so much more. This summer break camp is perfect for those active campers. Scholarships and flex-pay available.
3-day camps for 5-6 year-olds and 5-day camps for 7-17 year-olds.
Days/Times: One-week sessions offered June 6th – August 12th
Ages: 5-6 years, 7-17 years

Great Basin Outdoor School Adventure Day Camp
Before and aftercare also available for $10/child per day. Sibling discounts are available.
Days/Times: One-week sessions offered June 14 – July 23; 9:00am-4:00pm
Ages: 6-12 years

The Discovery
Registration opens Monday, February 28 at 10:00am.
Camp Discovery at the Discovery Museum has tons of camps to choose from. Offering 30 different camps from June 13 – August 12.

Ages: Entering kindergarten – seventh grade
Cost: $240 – $265
KIDS U Explore the University
University campers will participate in various themed camps depending on their age groups with over 50 themed week choices.
Days/Times: One week session July 11-15th
Ages: 2nd grade – 8th grade
Cost: Starts at $335.
KidScape
These are one-week professional performance camps. Campers learn leadership and life skills that are useful on and off the stage. Campers will get to perform at the end of the camp session.

Project Discovery
Register for a camp focused on leadership development, communication, and the development of positive friendships.

Sierra Nevada Journeys Summer Camps

Summer break camps are weekend camps held at Sierra Nevada Journeys’ Grizzly Creek Ranch near Portola, California.
Family Camp
Family Camp is held each year over usually on one weekend.

Cost:Each cabin is $2,700 per cabin for 3 nights and 4 days over Labor Day weekend. The price includes exclusive use of your cabin for up to 12 people.
Backcountry Leadership Trip
Sierra Nevada Journeys works in partnership with Summer Search, a national nonprofit that works to unleash students’ potential through mentoring and transformative experiences, to provide on an engaging and empowering two-week outdoor excursion for Bay Area youth.
- Session 1: Sunday, June 19, 2022 to Sunday, July 3, 2022
- Session 2: Wednesday, July 6, 2022 to Wednesday, July 20, 2022

Truckee Meadows Park Foundation

UNR College of Engineering Virtual Summer Camps
We will be hosting a Virtual Engineering Everywhere, Level 1 camp for 12-14-year-olds and a Virtual Engineering Exploration, Level 2 camp for 15-18-year-olds. These camps are introductions to engineering and include many of our engineering majors. We utilize Zoom, FlipGrid, pre-recorded videos and live interactive sessions for participants.

Camp Wasiu II CANCELLED 2020
An all-girls overnight camp sponsored by the Girl Scouts of Sierra Nevada. You do not need to be a Girl Scout to attend Camp Wasui, however, if you are, there are several opportunities to earn your badges!
Each week has a different camp theme! Camp registration discounts available for six-day and thirteen-day sessions.

Ages: 2nd-12th grade
Cost: Starting at $375 per week
One-Day Camps by GSSN
An all-girls day camp sponsored by the Girl Scouts of Sierra Nevada. You do not need to be a Girl Scout to attend these one-day programs. Every program is a different theme.
Older Girl Excursions are also offered by GSSN for those entering grades 6-12. These camps are 2-3 days long.
Days/Times: July 1, 2, 3, 29, 30, 31, July 25-27, August 1-2; 9:00am-4:30pm
Ages: Entering 1st – 12th grade

Girls Rock Reno – Virtual for 2020
Campers will love this week long music and performance camp. They will get to write a song to perform with a band formed at the camp, then at the end of the week they will perform at a showcase!
Days/Times: June 17-21. 8am-5pm
Ages: 9-17
Cost: $320
S.T.E.M Summer Camps
Through Challenge Island campers will get to experience fun hands on activities and fun. They will get to experience creative problem solving within each session. Each session has a different theme. From Fortnite (no computers) to Harry Potter, Slime and more. Camp is at Wooster High School.
Days/Times: Multiple sessions offered. Some camps are in person and some are virtual

Tahoe Summer Camp CANCELLED for 2020
The camp’s location is at Tahoe Expedition Academy campus in Truckee, California, however, they are not offering a Lacrosse Camp in RENO! They offer tons of different themes and activities for all ages from exploring, rock climbing, lacrosse, STEM and more!

Theatreworks of Northern Nevada CANCELLED FOR 2020
Campers will experience the joy of the performing arts through action-packed arts-based activities! There will be daily workshops and an end of session showcase for all performers!
Days/Times: Session 1: June 10th – 14th, 9am-4pm; Session 2: July 29th – August 2nd, 9am-4pm
Ages: 4-10
Cost: $150/per Camper; $120 per Additional Camper (20% Sibling Discount)
Reno Little Theater – Actout Camp –
Reno Little Theater’s Camps are held in accordance with Washoe County School District’s balanced calendar breaks. Through our diverse curriculum children have the opportunity to experience traditional day camp activities with theatrical flair!

Ages: 6 and older
Cost: $40 – $50 for virtual camp
Galena Greek Visitor Center Summer Camp CANCELLED FOR 2020
Day Camps are at the Galena Creek Visitor Center, six miles up Mt. Rose Hwy from South Reno, at the first entrance to Galena Creek Recreation Area. Residential Camps start at WeChMe Lodge, the second entrance to Galena Creek Recreation Area, 3/4 mile up Mt. Rose Hwy from Galena Creek Visitor Center.
Great Basin Naturalists at Galena Exploration Camps are provided through a partnership between Washoe County, the U.S. Forest Service, and the Great Basin Institute.

Each week we’ll visit a different place around the world. We’ll explore a little about their geography, history, and culture, and do art projects, crafts, read stories, play games, cook, and taste foods from each place. You can sign up for the whole session or just for the dates that work for you.
