Days/Hours:  Open 7 days a week, hours vary and it is recommended to call ahead to verify

Activities: Biggest Little Baby offers so many classes including Español for toddlers, step into music, multilingual story time, and kids yoga to name a few.

Cost: Classes range between free to $18 depending on the class. It is best to check the website or call the store to verify pricing before attending.

DISCOVERY MUSEUM

Wednesday they open at 9:00 am for toddler Wednesdays (5 and under).

Activity: Exhibits, events, classes and programs, and a toddler room. Plus Wednesday they open at 9:00 am for toddler Wednesdays (5 and under).

Food: No food available for purchase but there is a seating area to enjoy a packed lunch

Cost: $10 – children (ages 1-17), $12 – adults, $10 – seniors (ages 65+), Free – Under age 1.  Wednesday 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm admission is $5.00 for everyone. Memberships are also available for purchase.

GYMBOREE

Days/Hours: Vary for class/open gym

Activities: Gymboree offers a variety of classes for all ages. They have music classes, open gym, art, preschool prep, and much more. Make sure to check out their monthly calendar to see what classes are coming up and which would suit your child best.

Cost: A trial week starts at $16 and memberships by age start at $64/month

HIKE IT BABY

SILVER BEAR SWIM SCHOOL

Days/Hours: Monday to Thursday 9am-12pm/3pm-7pm; Friday 3p-7p; Saturday 9am-2pm

Activities: Silver Bear Swim offers different class types per age group as well as family swim. Classes will help your child become comfortable with water, as well as teaching water safety skills and learning how to swim in a comfortable environment. Please check their website to fill out a family swim request form, as well as checking availability on classes.

SOCCER SHOTS 

Soccer Shots is a great program for ages 2-8 year olds.

WONDER AND UNWIND

Hours: Monday – Saturday 9am – 5pm

Activities: Developmentally rich environment for your children to build their skills in all areas of child development in an age-appropriate, supervised, unstructured play area. While they play and grow, you can either engage in your child’s play, or you can simply take a breather and relax in our parent lounge.

SPARKS

ALF SORENSON

Days/Hours: Tot Pool Monday – Thursday 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Saturday 1:30 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. (Call ahead to verify)

Activities: The tot pool is heated to 90 degrees and is for kids 6 or younger. Parents are to accompany children in the tot pool area and are now allowed to watch them from the side, rather than be in the water with the child.  They also have a full size pool available for swimming with additional hours.

Activities: DEFY offers all sorts of fun indoor activities for children including a ninja course, open jump, extreme dodgeball, a zip line, and much more. There is something for every age group at DEFY!

Cost: 2 and under are free, ages 3+ starts at $21. Monthly memberships start at $25, KidJump offers you an opportunity to jump with your little one at no cost.

Kid Jump is an hour dedicated hour for kids 6 and under.  Available every Monday-Friday from 1pm-2pm.

WILD ISLAND FAMILY ADVENTURE

Hours: Sun-Thurs 10:00 am – 10:00 pm, Fri-Sat 10:00 am – 11:00 pm

Activities: Something for all ages! This family adventure park includes bowling, XD Adventure theater, High Ballocity (indoor play center for kids 2-12), Lazer Maze, Indoor miniature golf (black light), arcade games, billiards, electric indoor glow kart track, and laser tag! During the Summer months they also have the waterpark with a dedicated area for younger children!

CARSON VALLEY SWIM CENTER

CHILDREN’S MUSEUM OF NORTHERN NEVADA

MESSY KIDS ART SCHOOL

Days/Hours: 9a-7:30p Monday to Saturday

Activities: A place for children to come and experiment/learn through art play. Babe area climbing structures ages 0-2, Additional gross motor climbing structures ages 2-8, dramatic play town, occasional indoor bouncy house and ball pit, open art studio, caregivers internet lounge and coffee bar.

Activities: Tumbleweed gymnastics offers classes for all age ranges. For the younger children, classes teach hand eye coordination, gross motor skills, sensory skills, and enhance cognitive development. For older children, classes help with decision making, cooperation, learning and respecting rules, and growing gymnastic skills.

MINDEN/GARDNERVILLE

COTTON CANDY CLOUDS

Days/Hours: The studio is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10a-6p. Some classes and events may be outside of normal business hours, so please check the website.

Activities: Cotton Candy Clouds offers all different types of events every month including Storytime, Montessori style play centers, a reading lounge, and playgroups, just to name a few.

Cost: Activities range between free to $30, depending on the activity. They also offer monthly memberships starting at $30 as well.

LIBRARY

Days/Hours: Wednesday at 10:30am

Activities: The Minden Library hosts a storytime for babies and includes stories, songs, and playtime.

Candice is a new mom to a little boy born in April of 2022. She moved from Los Angeles to Gardnerville in the summer of 2019 and loves exploring everything Northern Nevada has to offer. Candice has run 2 marathons, enjoys hiking and backpacking with her family and their two dogs, and loves heading out to watch a good movie for date night.

Kacey Queen is a co-founder of Nevada Moms

Kacey received her bachelor's in Psychology while cheering for the University of Oregon. They moved to Reno in 2014 and have loved it ever since. She is a dedicated homeschooling mother to her three children.

She serves on the hospital board for Northern Nevada Health Systems and is passionate about her community.

Kacey loves exploring with her family and finding family-friendly events and activities! A few of her favorite things include family adventures, traveling, working out, coffee, and dessert!
