Wemple’s Pumpkin Patch, a Local’s Review

October is here which means all the pumpkin patches are open! If you are up for a little bit of car time, I promise packing up and heading to Wemple’s Pumpkin Patch is totally worth it!

Our family has made it an annual tradition every year to visit. And just an hour outside of Reno, you won’t be disappointed!

Wemple’s Pumpkin Patch

Wemple’s Pumpkin Patch is a family-owned, family-run farm in Milford California. Since 1994 the Pumpkin Patch has been an annual tradition for families from all around.

They offer an old-fashioned farm experience for our customers that make memories for years to come. Enjoy hayrides, U-Pick pumpkins, squash and gourds, a country store, a cookhouse, a hay maze, and a corn maze. There are lots of animals to view and enjoy while you relax on a peaceful October afternoon.

450-525 Wemple Ln, Milford, CA 96121.

Wemple’s Pumpkin Patch is located past Doyle California, about an hour’s drive from Reno. Perfect distance for those little ones to get in a perfect nap there and back!

Parking

Parking is convenient and close to all the attractions. With little ones, this makes it nice to not have to walk far, and it’s completely free.

Cost

Admission into Wemple’s is free!

Pro Tip: If you want to go out for a picnic and sit at one of their many picnic tables it’s completely free and fun!

Activities To Enjoy

Free Activities

  • Check out the animals, they have goats, horses, chickens, turkeys, pigs, and cows. Oh and sweet farm dogs you can sometimes see running around.
  • Have a picnic on the grass
  • Little kids “hay” maze. Completely free and kids have a blast (even my 10-year-old niece liked it even though she could see the exit)
  • Pumpkin checkers table
  • Pumpkin Tic-tac-toe
  • Playground with swings and slides, as well as little playhouses for the little littles.

Other Activities

  • Hayride: $2/person, Kids 2 & Under are Free
  • Corn maze: $5/person
  • U-Pick Pumpkins: Cost is by weight/size
  • Country store where you can buy all kinds of goodies

Food

Didn’t pack a lunch? No worries, they have you covered. They have a food shack there on site.  They serve fresh grilled hamburgers and hotdogs. Something to drink or even a sweet treat.

Pro Tip: If you save room you have to try their caramel apples, or even better their “Sweet Nachos” pictured below.

Pumpkin Patch

With so many pumpkins to choose from on their display truck, to the hundreds of them scattered throughout the large fields, you are sure to find the perfect pumpkin.

They also have a ton of little red wagons for you to use while finding your perfect pumpkin so you do not have to carry them all around.

Overview

All in all, this is definitely my family’s favorite pumpkin patch. We always have a blast out at Wemple’s Pumpkin Patch every year. To me, it is definitely worth the hour drive to get there!
