Spring Break is just around the corner. For Washoe County, the 2020 Spring Break is from March 16th to March 27th. Are you traveling (we’re pretty sure Disneyland (CLOSED) is calling our name), working, or looking for some activities to do?

Check out our list of Spring Break camps and activities that you can check out or enroll your children in. The camps are from ages 3-13, so there is a little something for everyone!

Here are Spring Break camps to check out in Northern Nevada and the surrounding areas. Most of these allow or request that you pack a lunch and or snacks to send with your child – so keep that in mind!

Reno and Sparks Spring Break Camps

CANCELED – City of Reno Spring Break

Check out the City of Reno’s spring break options for campers ages 6.5-12 years old this year! This year they are at three locations, Evelyn Mount Northeast Community Center (EMNECC), Plumas Park & Gym, McKinley Arts & Culture Center, Alice Smith Elementary School, and Poulakidas Elementary School. Camps are first come, first served. Space is limited.

Days/Times: March 16-20 and March 23-27, Monday – Friday, 7 am – 6 pm

Ages: 6.5-12 years

Cost: $60-$105 per week, daily rate only available on select locations

CANCELED – Sparks Parks & Rec

From what we’ve seen, the Sparks Parks & Rec offers spring break fun in a large multi-purpose room. Their site is not very user-friendly in terms of the actual cost, but from what we’ve gathered, it looks like it’s about $120 per week. Definitely call to get more details.

Days/Times: March 16-20 and March 23-27, Monday – Friday, 7 am – 6 pm

Ages: 4-9 years and 9-11 years

Cost: $120 Sparks Residents, $144 Non-Residents ; $36/$43 daily drop-in rate

Spring Break Camp at The Discovery

Each week there are different camps for a range of ages. The themes of each camp are different as well as the cost depending on age. The Terry Lee Wells Discovery Museum offers a discounted rate for members.

Early drop-off (8:00 am) and late pickup (5:30 pm) available. If you are in need of financial support, check their website above.

Days/Times: Week 1 – March 16-20 from 9am – 4pm ; Week 2 – March 23-27 from 9am – 4pm

Ages: Kindergarten – 7th Grade

Cost: $112.50 – $250 per week

KIDS U Explore the University

University campers will participate in various activities depending on their age groups (Grades 2-5,  4-6, 5-8, 6-8) in addition to exploring the campus in the mornings. There is complimentary before (7:45-9:00am) and aftercare (4:00-5:30pm) available.

Each age group is limited to 25 campers.

Days/Times: March 16-20 from 9am – 3:30pm

Ages: 2nd grade – 8th grade

Cost: $275

Student Stewards Camp

If you love the Truckee Meadows Park Foundation as much as we do, check out their Student Stewards Camp! The Student Stewards Spring Break Camp is a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), standards-based option. There is an early drop-off (8:00am) and late pick-up (5:30pm) available.

Days/Times: Ecosystem Engineers: March 25-29, 2019, Seasonal Survivors: April 1-5, 2019 from 9-4pm

Ages: 8-13 years

Cost: $200 per week, Early Bird is $150 per week by 2/25/20

CANCELED – Arts for All Nevada Spring Break Arts Camp

Enroll in the Spring Break Arts Camp at Lake Mansion. Their talented teaching artists will provide an hour and a half of visual art, a 15-30 minute snack break and an hour of performing art. Feel free to bring a mid-morning/afternoon snack at one of their sessions. Early drop off is available and included in the cost for morning sessions (8:00 – 8:30am).

Days/Times: March 16 – March 20 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, March 23 – March 27 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Ages: 6-10 years

Cost: $125 per week

CANCELED – Great Basin Naturalists Spring Exploration Camp

Mark your calendars for the Great Basin Naturalists spring break camp at Galena Greek! This is great for the older explorers in your family who love the outdoors and nature.

Days/Times: March 16-20 and March 23-27, Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm

Ages: 8-12 years

Cost: $195

NNJ Volleyball Spring Break

If you’re into volleyball, this is the camp for you! Intensive instruction, lots of fun drills, and quality skill instruction.

Days/Times: March 16-20 and March 25-27 from 9am – 12pm or 9am – 3:30pm (half or full days)

Ages: 5-18 years

Cost: $250 / $208 Resident Discount (Full Camp) per session; $150 / $125 Resident Discount (Half Day) per session

CANCELED – Reno Little Theater

The RLT is putting on two different themed camps during spring break this year. Week 1 will be “Mary Poppins” themed and Week 2 will be “Where the Wild Things Are” themed. Kids will sing, dance, and create during each week!

They will also offer early drop-off (8:00am) and late pick-up (5:30pm) for an additional $25 as well as sibling discounts.

Days/Times: March 16-20 from 9am-4pm, March 23-27 from 9am-4pm

Ages: 6-12 years old

Cost: $250 per camper

Nevada Musem of Art

CANCELED – Fun With Clay

Learn the basics of pottery, glazing and the transformation of their pieces from the heat of the kiln. All works will be fired in the Museums’ kiln. Snack and materials are included.

Days/Times: March 23-27 from 8:30am – 12pm

Ages: 7-12 years

Cost: $185 / $165 for Members

CANCELED – The Natural World

This class will feature a special discussion on art inspired by nature. A daily snack and all materials are included with registration.

CANCELED – Young Artist Series Digital Animation

Students will also have an opportunity to explore and sketch using the iPads in the Museum’s galleries while looking for inspiration for their own work. A snack and all materials are included with registration.

CANCELED – KidScape Spring Break Full Play Camp

The theme for this improv camp is “The Norse Mythology Ragnasplosion“. If your kids are wanting to learn the ins and outs of professional theatre, this is the camp to check out! There will be an opportunity to try out for stage or backstage roles and together put up a full play in a single week!!

Days/Times: April 1-5 from 8:30am – 5:30pm

Ages: 7-17 years

Cost: $335 including materials fee

Freestyle Fitness

Must call 774-746-3888 for more information and sign up. Save $50 for a sibling or second camp sign-up!

Jedi Training Camp

Keep the kids busy over spring break with Jedi Training Camp at Freestyle! With lightsaber training and Jedi vs Sith duels, plus a trip to see Disney’s Mulan, it’s going to be a great week.

American Ninja Warrior Camp

We have the second week of spring break covered with Freestyle’s American Ninja Warrior camp! Your kids will navigate elite obstacle courses and participate in dive roll competitions, games and tournaments, plus enjoy a trip to The Discovery Museum’s Mind Bender Museum.

Days/Times: March 23-27 from 9am – 2pm

CANCELED – Camp Mesa Rim

Camp activities are tailored to each child based on their age and experience level. Under the guidance of experienced coaches, campers will learn climbing movement, how to tie knots and belay other climbers. They’ll also play fun, mentally challenging games, do arts and crafts, and work on their flexibility and mindfulness during our youth yoga.

Days/Times: March 16-20, March 23-27 from 9am–3pm

Ages: 7-13 years

Cost: $390 per week

CANCELED – GHT Spring Break Camp

This fun spring break camp covers key fundamentals, character and the values necessary to achieve your goals in sports and life. Whether you are trying to make your junior high team, high school team, or just learning how to compete in basketball, this is the camp for you.

GHT Camp is also geared to teach each athlete life skills utilizing sports one individual at a time.

Days/Times: March 16-19 from 2pm – 5pm

Ages: 6-14 years

TheatreWorks of Northern Nevada

Activities include daily theatre and dance workshops taught by area professionals as well as have the opportunity to perform at an end of camp showcase.

Challenge Island Camps

Challenge Island is here to enrich your child’s life through scientific, engineering, technology, arts, and math. Our focus is to bring your child challenges through whimsical and entertaining activities.

Challenge Island will allow your child a safe and fun way to explore STE(A)M activities outside of the standard educational atmosphere.

Days/Times: Across The Universe Camp from March 16-20 and Sports Edition Camp from March 23-27

Ages: Grades K-8, Ages 5-13

Junior Tennis Camps for Girls and Boys

Learn the basics including stroke technique, forehand and backhand, how to serve and volley and more! There will be instruction and games and lots of fun! Space is limited!

Days/Times: March 16 – March 19 and March 23 – March 26, Monday through Thursday from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm

Ages: 5-17 years

Cost: $120 per camp (4 three hour sessions)

Major Taylor Spring Break Camp

Camp activities are tailored to each child based on their age and experience level. Under the guidance of experienced coaches, campers will learn climbing movement, how to tie knots and belay other climbers. They’ll also play fun, mentally challenging games, do arts and crafts, and work on their flexibility and mindfulness during our youth yoga.

Days/Times: March 16-20, March 23-27 from 1pm–4pm

Ages: 12-15 years, minimum height 4’10”

Winnemucca Spring Break Camps:

Spring Break in Humboldt County is March 30 – April 3, 2020.

CANCELED – When Piggies Fly Spring Break Camps

When Piggies Fly will be hosting Spring Break Camps for most ages with different themed days. There will tumbling, gymnastics, movies, crafts, and learning. Call 347-585-4455 to get more info.

Not only is the library a great idea, but most of their events and activities are free! Check out our list of storytime options throughout Washoe County, plus we’ve linked their calendar for a full view at all the events they have going on.

CLOSED – Idlewild Train Ride

Head to Idlewild and jump on the train for a fun ride. Kids 2 and under are free as long as they sit on your lap.

The Animation Academy

This fun and interactive exhibition explores the history of animation, from traditional hand-drawn cell to the computer.

Read the stories of real-life animators, see tools of the trade, watch classic cartoons, and try your own hand at animating! Featuring the world’s largest 3D zoetrope, photo ops, hands-on art stations, and much more!

Days/Times: February 15th – May 10th, Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 12 noon to 4 p.m.

Circus 1903 Eldorado Showroom
